Fontan Outcomes Network 2017-2021
- Executive Co-Lead of National Learning Health Network Design in Pediatric Cardiology which aims to improve longevity and quality of life for individuals with single ventricle congenital heart disease
- Engaged thought leaders from 30 pediatric cardiology academic centers to form a national collaborative, including patient and parent partners, clinicians, and researchers
- Oversight of national project design, mission and vision, governance, funding, data management, and overall operations
National Pediatric Cardiology Quality Improvement Collaborative 2013-2021
- Governance Board and executive Leadership elected by leadership of the Joint Council of Congenital Heart Disease
- National Learning Health Network of 68 pediatric cardiology centers, which has reduced mortality of the target patient population by 40%
- In 2005, developed the Stanford home monitoring program that was adopted as a best practice model for this national collaborative at its inception in 2009
Stanford Comprehensive Single Ventricle Program 2014-2020
- Envisioned program for interdisciplinary, longitudinal care for children with single ventricle congenital heart disease- first program on West Coast, 1 of only 3 in USA

Professional Experience
Dr. Wright attended Princeton University. She majored in Molecular Biology and won the department’s Senior Thesis prize and graduated cum laude. As an undergraduate, she also studied English Literature and Women’s Studies and captained the Women’s Lacrosse team. She then went to the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where she won the Harrison Prize for Pediatrics, and stayed on for pediatric residency at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. After residency, Dr. Wright worked as a general pediatrician in the U.S. Public Health Service in the Navajo Area Indian Health Service and served as Chief of Pediatrics there. She returned to academic medicine and completed fellowships in Pediatric Cardiology and in Pediatric Critical Care at the University of Michigan before joining the Department of Pediatrics faculty at the Stanford University School of Medicine.
At the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford, Dr. Wright helped establish the Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit and the Pediatric Ventricular Assist Program. She founded the Single Ventricle Home Monitoring Program and was the founding Erin Hoffmann Endowed Medical Director of the Stanford Comprehensive Single Ventricle Program. She created and co-directed the Stanford Single Ventricle Scientific Summits, which convened international luminaries to accelerate discovery in single ventricle congenital heart disease. Dr. Wright was honored with the “Stanford Stole” award for mentoring twice in a decade, as well as several other teaching awards throughout her time on the Stanford faculty. Nationally, she served on the Governance Board of the National Pediatric Cardiology Quality Improvement Collaborative (https://www.npcqic.org) and co-led the development of the Fontan Outcomes Network (http://fontanoutcomesnetwork.org).
Dr. Wright has been an invited speaker at national and international conferences including the American Heart Association, American College of Cardiology, International Fontan Interest Group Symposium, Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Society, National Pediatric Cardiology Quality Improvement Collaborative, Western Society of Pediatric Cardiology, University of New Mexico, Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, and Pegasus Physician Writers at Stanford. She is board-certified in Pediatric Cardiology, Pediatric Critical Care, and General Pediatrics with the American Board of Pediatrics.
Currently Dr. Wright’s clinical pediatric cardiology practice is based at the Santa Clara County Health and Hospital Systems. Her practice is open to new patients, including for single ventricle outpatient care. In addition to her clinical practice, she has launched Redwood Resilience to promote integrative wellness for individuals, clinical teams, and healthcare organizations.
